What is NOCN
NOCN stands for the National Open College Network and it is a top ten Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation, offering hundreds of qualifications in many sectors, from Entry Level to Level 7. NOCN qualifications are flexible and responsive to learner needs and credit-based, consisting of individual units of assessment, each with an assigned level and credit value attached. Learners who demonstrate that they have achieved the learning outcomes of a specified unit are awarded credits and can collect/accumulate these over time towards the achievement of a full qualification.
NOCN offer Cskills qualifications which are specifically for the construction industry and are based on portfolio evidence rather than examinations.

An NVQ allows you to gain knowledge in both the theoretical and practical areas of your profession. NVQs are a recognised nationwide qualification which shows your employer that you are working to industry standards. They have a high reputation and are equivalent to other nationally recognised qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE
- NVQ Level 4 is equivalent to a certificate in higher education
- NVQ Level 6 is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
